  • 1/3 cup soy sauce Use gluten-free soy sauce for gluten-free option
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water To mix with cornstarch

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) if baking. If frying, heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the orange juice, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and minced ginger.
  3. Season the chicken wings with salt and pepper, then dip them into the orange mixture to coat.
Cooking
  1. If baking: Place the wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray. Bake for 40-45 minutes until crispy, flipping halfway.
  2. If frying: Fry the wings until golden brown and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine the remaining orange mixture with cornstarch and water. Bring to a simmer and stir until thickened.
  4. Toss the cooked wings in the glaze before serving.

Notes

For garnishing, serve the wings hot on a platter topped with sliced green onions or sesame seeds. Offer napkins as the wings are sticky. These wings pair well with celery sticks, carrot sticks, or a simple salad. A bowl of steamed rice is also a good side.
