  • 1 tablespoon salt Adjust according to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper Freshly cracked pepper is recommended.
  • 1 whole lemon, sliced Insert inside the chicken cavity.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix the Calabrian chili paste, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and rub the chili mixture all over the chicken, including under the skin.
  4. Place the lemon slices inside the cavity of the chicken.
Cooking
  1. Place the chicken on a roasting pan and roast in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the skin is crispy.
  2. Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving.
  3. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve.

Notes

For a different flavor, consider marinating the chicken in the chili mixture for a few hours before roasting. You can also pair this dish with light sides like roasted vegetables or a simple salad.
