Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Core the apples and place them in a baking dish.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and ground cinnamon together.
  4. Sprinkle this mixture over the apples, filling the centers.
  5. Place a small piece of butter on top of each apple.
Baking
  1. Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the apples are tender.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store the baked apples in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving. For added flavor, consider a splash of lemon juice or topping with oats.
