For the Tzatziki Sauce
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt Use full-fat for creamier texture.
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled Can adjust based on preference.
  • 1 cup cucumber, grated Squeeze out excess water before mixing.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic provides the best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Adds brightness to the sauce.
For Assembly
  • 4 pieces pita bread Can use whole wheat for a healthier option.
  • to taste Fresh parsley for garnish Chopped for a fresh finish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Marinate the chicken in this mixture for at least 30 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Grill or cook the marinated chicken in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked.
Make Tzatziki Sauce
  1. In another bowl, combine Greek yogurt, feta cheese, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt to make the tzatziki sauce.
Warm Pita
  1. Warm the pita bread in a skillet or oven.
Assembly
  1. Assemble the gyros by placing the cooked chicken in pita bread, drizzling with tzatziki sauce, and garnishing with fresh parsley.
